Be a Strong Role Model

Model healthy behavior for the young women and girls in your life. “Show them what it’s like to love yourself,” says Susan Bartell, author of Dr. Susan’s Girls-Only Weight Loss Guide. “Hide the scale, and don’t obsessively diet or talk negatively about your body in front of your daughter.” Teach her how to take care of her skin and hair and to adopt healthy eating and exercise habits, she adds.
