Road Trips: Recharge

Plan a ten minute break for every two hours you drive, and drive no more than six hours per day. Take a full hour for lunch. Find stops where you can stretch your legs and the kids can run around. To find out if you’ll pass major parks, visit www.nps.gov (the Website of the National Parks Service) or www.parkmaps.com for regional and state parks. If you need an unexpected break, ask a gas-station attendant or shopkeeper to recommend a local playground or picnic area.
