Which Witch are You?

Dressing up for Halloween is easy and fun with this classic costume

Nothing says Halloween like a witch and with this costume there’s plenty of room to express your own creativity. Be any type of witch you want — a princess witch, a spooky witch, even a witch from your favorite movie. Just remember that it's all about the details.

To start, you can wear pretty much any simple, solid black dress, then accessorize. The essence of any witch costume, of course, is a pointy, wide-brimmed hat. Even if you pick yours up at a store (they are available cheaply at drugstores), be sure to add some flair of your own by adding accessories from a fabric shop or dollar store. Going as a creepy witch? Add authentic-looking fake spiders and cockroaches to your hat. Girly witch? Bedazzle your hat with rhinestones and feathers.

Also recommended: Take a trip to the costume shop to pick up the appropriate wig and makeup for your look. More classic witches should purchase blue-green or even orange face paint to give their skin a ghoulish cast, while sweeter witches should indulge in glitter to enhance their look. Finally, leave the household broom in the closet — you don't want to end up looking like a maid. Bundle up some twigs and attach them to an old broom handle for a spookier version.
