Keeping the Spark Alive in Your Relationship
How to create moments that can bring you closer

It’s important to rekindle your feelings or risk losing the connection that keeps you content and in tune. Try these suggestions that don’t involve overblown romantic gestures.
Stay Close
When you wake up, kiss each other. Pass each other in the hallway? Share a big hug. And when you catch his eye across the room, smile. Physical touch and smiles go miles toward better communication, closeness and love.Mealtime Magic
Mealtimes provide plenty of opportunities to connect. Instead of sitting across the table from each other, sit on the same side. Indulge in meals that encourage sharing. Pour yourselves some wine, add music and make dinnertime a collaborative effort.Lights Out
Depending on the age of your kids, set a time each evening when family time is officially over. Younger children should be bathed and in bed. Teenagers should be in the family room or their bedrooms doing their own thing and leaving the two of you alone to unwind and share a romantic moment.Grab a Flick
Play hooky from work. Pick a movie from the listings, load up on popcorn and licorice and enjoy a midweek flick without a balcony full of kids to distract you.Drive a Dream
Choose a few of your favorite dream cars and then spend the afternoon test-driving them together.Honeymoon Once a Year
Make arrangements for your kids to stay with relatives or close friends, then act like newlyweds. Make love, laugh, talk openly, laze about in each other’s arms. Discover that you’re more than just parents or employees. It’s a Wrap
Take in a football, lacrosse or hockey game and bring along a big blanket to wrap yourselves up in and cuddle.Raise a Toast
Visit a local microbrewery or winery and learn about your favorite wheat beers or pinot noirs. Bring a few home to enjoy on a winter’s eve.Rate this article:

Such a helpful article! Some very good ideas.
At least "communication" was mentioned (in passing). Even some of us men think's it's essential. "Keeping the spark alive?" "Rekindle?" Remember the line from that romantic old song: "When I fall in love, it will be forever." Live it every day, in good times and bad.
some good ideas - I like the idea of together time at the end of the day - just don't head for bed or all the romance will be lost in snores!
