Accessorize — for Less!
You can freshen your look without breaking the bank.

Accessories make any outfit uniquely yours. They’re also an affordable way to keep your look current. Here are some tips from fashion expert Georgia Alexia Benjou for adding glamour without maxing out your plastic.
Curate Your Look
Less is more. Follow the example of European women, who typically do not buy a new wardrobe each season or try every trend. Instead, they add a few show-stopping items, so their closets evolve. Having a discerning eye that picks one or two key accessories each fashion cycle helps your wallet as well as your wardrobe.
Think Outside the Mall
A well-stocked, fashion-savvy consignment store is a wonderful place to shop for gently used designer goods. If you’re not looking to make a big investment but want a few inexpensive accessories to update your wardrobe, fast-fashion chains and discount stores have some terrific items (belts, scarves, hats, gloves and jewelry) for much less than $50.
Choose Love
It’s best to buy one accessory you love and incorporate it into your look. Follow your heart with trends, because if you love something, you will continue to wear it and get the most for your money.
Where to Invest
If you’re going to spend serious money on a piece, make it shoes. And, of course, a shoe’s comfort and quality are its most important features. So if you’re going to splurge on any accessory, treat your feet.
