Barbecue and Grilling Tips
BBQs are some of the best events of summer. Keep yours safe by remembering these simple strategies.
- Don’t put raw and cooked meat on the same plate. Harmful bacteria in uncooked meat and its juices can contaminate safely cooked food. The same goes for utensils.
- Ensure that you’ve thoroughly cooked those burgers and hot dogs by keeping a meat thermometer by the grill.
- Keep the heat evenly distributed across the grill. When you’re using charcoal, set out enough briquettes to form a glowing bed that’s a bit larger than the food.

Growing up, my dad ALWAYS barbecued, even in the winter! I've kind of picked up on the tradition and these are some very simple things that even I forget sometimes! Thanks for the reminder!
