Baked Ham with Wine & Onion Glaze

Serves: 8 • Prep time: 15 min • Cook time: 1 hour

  • 1 envelope Lipton® Recipe Secrets® Onion Soup Mix
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup Madeira wine or sherry
  • 2 Tbsp. I Can't Believe It's Not Butter!® Spread
  • 1 Tbsp. finely chopped parsley
  • 5- to 6-pound fully-cooked ham butt end
  • 1 lb. shallots or small onions, peeled and quartered
  1. Preheat oven to 375°.
  2. Blend Lipton® Recipe Secrets® Onion Soup Mix, water, sugar, wine, Spread and parsley in small bowl; set aside.
  3. Arrange ham in roasting pan. Score (lightly cut) fat with knife in diamond pattern; top with soup mixture. Arrange shallots around ham. Bake, stirring shallots and basting ham occasionally, 60 minutes or until golden brown.

    I don't enjoy the taste of smoked ham particularly, it tastes better with a sauce. I really like this wine and onion glaze, gave it a great new flavour. Thanks for the recipe! Loved it!

    I love adding a little bit of wine on it, it really sokes it up so it makes it super tender!

    I usually shy away from ham recipes, but this one is really yummy - served it up for a family dinner and they inhaled it!

    I don`t know I think wine glazes still go better with beef, it`s not bad works nicely with the ham but I would like to try the glaze on a beef roast personally

    This wasn't bad... not my favorite by my kids seemed to enjoy it
