Avoid the Holiday Rush

Anna Marie of The Unilever Consumer Kitchens advises on how to keep calm this season.

Anna Marie of The Unilever Consumer Kitchens

I’m already starting to feel overwhelmed by the quickly approaching holidays. Stores have been carrying holiday decorations since September and I haven’t started buying a thing!

To help ease the stress during these upcoming weeks — when I never know if my schedule will allow me to get out and do some shopping — I make sure that my kitchen is stocked with some key ingredients, so I can always put together a quick dinner for my family. I try to keep at least a pound or two of ground beef and chicken breasts in the freezer, along with several packages of my family’s favorite flavors of Knorr® Sides™ for delicious meal accompaniments.

Other great staples you might want to keep on hand include baking potatoes, a few onions, jarred pasta sauces, Wish-Bone® Dressings, pasta, bags of shredded cheeses and flour tortillas. You can use them to quickly prepare dishes, such as Chili-Stuffed Baked Potatoes (which is a simple and satisfying supper — and, at $1.50 a serving,* easy on the budget!) and Rigatoni Bolognese.

Hopefully, these tips will help you get through the next few weeks with a little less stress — at least in the kitchen.
