Make a Tired Face Look Beautiful — Instantly!

Deadlines, carpools, trips to the grocery store because you’re out of milk again — no wonder we all look less than perky now and then. But a few simple tricks will make you look like you just had eight hours of sleep and a massage, says Mally Roncal, makeup artist to A-list stars.
Revitalize with veggies. “I put cold, sliced cucumbers all over my face, including under the eyes, for three or four minutes,” Roncal says. “They help close the pores and tighten the skin.”
Make time for tea. Chamomile tea bags, soaked in cold water, are great for reducing under-eye puffiness, says Roncal. Place a tea bag gently under each eye and relax for 10 minutes. “I soak several tea bags and keep them in the fridge,” she says. “When the first tea bags get warm after a few minutes on my face, I just take the cold ones from the fridge and switch them.”
Send under-eye shadows into hiding. “Concealer is our friend,” Roncal says. “Use a small synthetic makeup brush with firm bristles and a creamy concealer. Apply it directly under the eyes, at the outer and inside corners,” she adds. Then, apply a bit of concealer to the sides of the bridge of the nose, where shadows are darkest. “You can apply it as far up as the inside corner of the eye,” she says.
Add a little shimmer to wake up tired eyes. “Take a silver, gold or pink shade of powder eye shadow and, using a Q-tips® cotton swab, apply a small dot to the inner corner of the eye, right on the tear duct,” Roncal suggests. “A lot of my celebrity clients like that look, and with the right shade of shadow, it’s okay for daytime.”
