How to Host a Cookie Exchange

Spend time with friends and swap sweet treats

image

If you love the idea of having dozens of different cookies on hand to entertain family and friends but can’t find the time to make dozens, then the cookie-exchange party is the perfect solution. Here’s how.

  • Invite six to eight of your best baking buddies.
  • Ask each guest to make one dozen cookies for the party, plus a dozen for each guest. This will ensure that everyone gets a dozen of each variety of cookie. And it will help guests save money because they only have to buy only one recipe’s ingredients.
  • Have each guest bring copies of their recipes to pass around.
  • Remind everyone to bring large plastic containers to take their treats home in.
  • Decorate a large table and have a lot of platters available so your guests can display their sweet treats.
  • Serve cookies with tea, espresso, mulled cider or hot chocolate.
