Bad Hair Day Solutions
Keep your locks under control with these simple hair savers

Sure, we all have those days when our hair frizzes, flops or sticks out at odd angles. But you can avoid disasters by taking some preventative steps.
Hair wrecker: A weekend of overstyling, which can make hair dry and parched.
Hair saver: On Sunday night, preempt a Monday-morning problem by applying an intensive conditioning treatment to remoisturize and soften your locks.
Hair wrecker: High humidity, which makes curly hair frizzy and turns straight hair limp.
Hair saver: If you’re a curly girl, try a smoothing cream or gel to maintain curl definition. Straight-stranded? Use a lightweight volumizing spray or mousse just at your roots for extra lift, or use an ionic blow-dryer, which shoots a stream of antifrizz ions at your hair and promotes shine.
Hair wrecker: Hats, which can cause static or flatten your hairdo.
Hair saver: Before plopping on a hat, prevent static buildup by spritzing your locks with a leave-in conditioning spray. When you remove your hat, mist your hair with your favorite hairspray and finger-style. Stash a travel-size can of hairspray in your office or glove compartment.
Hair wrecker: Dirty styling tools.
Hair saver: Oil from combs and brushes can weigh down fine or thin hair. Wash styling implements once a month with a mild shampoo, either in the shower or by soaking them in soapy lukewarm water for a few minutes. You’ll be surprised at how a little effort to maintain your styling tools will pay off with clean, shiny hair.
